Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions we hear most often about how Westhoryn works, what it costs, and how your data is handled. If you don't find what you're looking for, reach out through our contact page.
What exactly does Westhoryn do?
Westhoryn analyses the financial and operational data you connect — household budgets, portfolios, or business records — and turns it into structured, readable decision support. Instead of raw spreadsheets, you get organised summaries, flagged risks, and clear next-step suggestions that you can act on or dismiss as you see fit.
Who is Westhoryn built for?
We work with two broad groups: households managing personal finances who want clarity without hiring an advisor for every decision, and individual investors who need a faster way to review positions and data before deciding where to focus their attention.
Does Westhoryn give financial advice?
No. Westhoryn provides analysis and decision support, not regulated financial advice. The outputs are intended to help you understand your own data more clearly and ask better questions — the final decisions, and responsibility for them, remain yours.
How does the AI arrive at its conclusions?
Every summary is paired with the underlying data points and reasoning it was drawn from, so you can see how a conclusion was reached rather than receiving an unexplained verdict. We favour transparent, traceable outputs over opaque "black box" scoring.
What kind of data can I connect?
You can import standard exports such as bank and brokerage statements, spreadsheets, and account summaries. We support common file formats and are gradually expanding direct connections — specifics are listed in the import tool when you set up an account.
Is my data secure and private?
Your data is used only to generate your own analysis and is not sold to third parties. We apply standard technical and organisational safeguards to protect it in storage and transit. Full detail on handling and retention is set out in our Privacy Policy.
How long does it take to get set up?
Most people complete initial setup and see their first analysis within a single sitting. The exact time depends on how much data you choose to import at the start — you can always add more sources later.
Can I change or correct the data Westhoryn uses?
Yes. You can edit, remove, or re-import data at any time. Because the analysis is generated from what you provide, keeping your inputs current is the simplest way to keep the output relevant.
What happens if the AI gets something wrong?
No automated analysis is infallible, which is why every output is presented alongside its source data and reasoning rather than as a final answer. We encourage you to treat results as a starting point for your own review, and we welcome reports of anything that looks inaccurate.
Do I need technical or financial expertise to use it?
No. Westhoryn is built to translate data into plain language. Some familiarity with your own accounts or portfolio is useful, but you don't need a background in finance or data analysis to understand the summaries.
Can I cancel or stop using Westhoryn at any time?
Yes. There is no long-term lock-in. You can stop using the service and request removal of your data whenever you choose, in line with the process described in our Terms of Service.
How do I get in touch if I still have questions?
